Craig Zimitat

Biography

Professor Craig Zimitat BSc(Hons), MHEd, PhD. FAcadMEd PFHEA is Director of Strategic Projects, Curtin Learning and Teaching, Curtin University, Australia. 

He provides academic leadership for a range of strategic activities that ensures high quality courses produce graduates who are prepared for the future of work in the 21st Century. He is an experienced leader with a demonstrated history of working in large and complex organisations such as universities and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency. Dr Zimitat has worked over 25 years across health professional education in Australian universities and overseas consultation. He is highly skilled and deeply engaged in leading institutional change management initiatives; academic governance and quality assurance in higher education, professional development, technology supported learning and teaching and as a learning architect leading the design, development and professional accreditation of health professional courses. The quality and impact of his work has been recognised through Principal Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy, Fellowship of HERDSA and the UK Academy of Medical Educators and Australian national teaching awards. Craig is Deputy Chair of the Australasian Strategic Advisory Board of Advance HE.

He is currently supervising a number of HDR students in educational and health services research.
