As the Senior Director of Research and Educational Technology, Crista is responsible for all of Loyola Marymount University's frontline technology support and educational technology strategies, policies, along with oversight of day-to-day operations. Educational Technology consists of 5 distinct but interwoven teams: ITS Service Desk, Instructional Technology, Classroom and Creative Services, Research Services and Educational Applications, and ITS Training and Communications. Crista has been a faculty member in the School of Education, having earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Administration, and is a frequent presenter at conferences. Crista was a co-founder of EduSoCal, a regional educational technology conference, and a past chair of the event.
IT departments need to develop a relationship of open communication and trust with faculty to achieve the level of collaboration needed for successful integration of academic technology on campus.
