
Cristian Opazo
Biography
Cristian Opazo is the Director of Educational Technology at the NYU College of Dentistry. He designs, develops and manages curricular initiatives involving the purposeful use of learning technologies. His areas of expertise are curricular development, instructional design, project management in higher education, and development of VR/XR learning environments. His research has been published in the Journal of Dental Education, Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Public Library of Science, and Complex Systems.
Before joining NYU in 2013, Cristian was the Senior Academic Computing Consultant at Vassar College, where he managed learning technology initiatives across academic departments and served as teaching faculty in the departments of Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science. Previously, he performed graduate work in experimental particle physics as part of the D0 collaboration at Fermi National Laboratory. He has a Ph.D. (ABD) and a Master's degree in physics from Michigan State University and a B.Sc. degree in physics from Universidad de Chile.
