Dan Allen

Biography

Dan is currently Sr. Instructional Designer and Accessibility Specialist for Drexel’s School of Education. His background and interests include web accessibility and usability, universal design, writing for the web, and best practices in online course design and teaching. He has over 15 years of experience in creating online content for institutions of higher education. Dan is co-chair of Drexel University’s Online Accessibility Committee, and is responsible for guiding the determination of guidelines, and the creation and implementation of accessibility training. He also created and teaches "Learning Technologies and Disabilities," an online graduate course in Drexel’s E-Learning Leadership program. Recent presentations on online accessibility and usability include Educause, Sloan-C, Academic Impressions, and PA Community Providers Association. Dan has an M.A. in English and a B.A. in Communications, both from Temple University.
