Dan Lim

Biography

Dr. Dan Lim is the Vice President for Educational Technology and Innovation at the AdventHealth University, responsible for academic technology, emerging technology, and technology innovation. Previously, Dr. Lim was the Dean of Academic Technology at Southern Adventist University, where he founded the Southern Online. He led Southern Adventist University to be recognized as the Campus Technology Innovator in the gaming category in 2006. He also received a game programming award in 2005. Before joining Southern Adventist University, Dr. Lim was the Director of Instructional Technology Center for seven years at the University of Minnesota, Crookston, the nation's first laptop campus. He was responsible for the integration of laptops into teaching and learning, and developed a model for transforming technology-resistant faculty into innovators. Dr. Lim received his Ph.D. degree in Educational Administration from Andrews University. He has published in the areas of ubiquitous laptop computing, technology cultural change, e-learning, and academic gaming and simulations. Besides delivering several keynote addresses, he has given more than 100 presentations at technology-related conferences nationally and internationally. He recently launched the AHU Immersive Technology Lab, conducting research and development in Healthcare Virtual Reality: experimenting with Immersive VR in healthcare education, training, orientation, empathy modeling, and VR gaming.
