Dan Nanto is the Director of Identity Services and Infrastructure Development for MIS at Vanderbilt University. He is responsible for Identity Management, application integration and development for ITS, Directory Services, Centralized Authentication, Account Management and Account Provisioning. He joined Vanderbilt in February, 2005.
Dan received his Computer Science Engineering degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He began his career as a software developer in 1993, working on point-of-sale and inventory applications for companies in Boulder. During the next four years he also helped develop software for cable television stations and help desk applications.
In 1997, Dan worked as a technical lead and team lead for a small startup company called Infinite Software Solutions. The company was eventually acquired by Avolent, Inc., where Dan spent 6 years developing Enterprise Electronic Presentment and Payment solutions. By the end of his tenure at Avolent, he was responsible for the architecture and development of major portions of their flagship software and supervised all the Java developers in the Colorado office.
In May of 2003, Dan was hired as a Software Architect at Corporate Express. He was responsible for helping redefine all software development and processes, mentoring and training other engineers on the latest Java and Open source technologies, selecting off-shore contractors and managing relationships with them, and developing infrastructure components.
Dan is a Sun certified enterprise architect. He has four children.
