Daniel Berkowitz served Boston University as the Assistant Director for the Office of Disability Services from 2000 to 2007. In this capacity he oversaw the adaptive and assistive technology needs of students with disabilities enrolled in both academic and non-academic programs through the whole of Boston University and affiliated programs. The accomplishment of which he is most proud was the development of a fully functional and cutting edge accessible digital text production facility. While still affiliated with BU through the continuation of his Doctoral studies, Dann is now the CEO of DigiLife Media, LLC and has dedicated himself and his company to developing the finest accessible digital versions of print based materials (e-text) for institutionas and corporations that support the needs of clients and consumers with print based disabilities.
Daniel Berkowitz has worked with college students and others with disabilities for more than a dozen years and specializes in supporting individuals with disabilities and other conditions that preclude them from accessing the printed word in 'traditional' hard-copy and digital formats. This includes individuals with blindness, low-vision, cognitive learning disabilities, psychiatric issues, mobility impairments, and chronic medical conditions.
Dann earned his undergraduate degree in Communications from Towson University and his Master's degree in Higher Education Administration (with an emphasis on services for students with disabilities) from the University of Connecticut Neag School of Education.
