Biography

Daniel Kent is a seasoned technology leader with more than 25 years of experience driving innovation and transformation in cloud computing, cybersecurity, and IT modernization. Currently serving as Field CTO Americas for Cloudflare, Dan partners with customers to develop forward-thinking technology strategies, harness emerging technologies, and streamline IT operations for enhanced business outcomes.

Throughout his illustrious career, Dan has held multiple C-level and leadership positions across the public and private sectors. Prior to Cloudflare, he demonstrated his technical and strategic acumen as CTO at leading organizations including Idemia and Red River Technologies—where he oversaw expansive engineering teams, spearheaded solution development, and led critical initiatives in cloud migration, DevSecOps integration, and digital transformation.

Dan’s expertise is built on a robust foundation of roles such as Public Sector CTO and Head of Systems Engineering at Cisco Systems and Sr Dir. of Engineering at Nortel Networks Federal.  At Cisco, he managed large teams of engineers and technical sales professionals while shaping the company’s technology roadmap for the government and education markets. During this time he led Cisco’ Public sector strategy in Cybersecurity and Cloud leading investments and acquisitions in this space .

His extensive background spans next-generation networking, IoT, SaaS applications, and comprehensive technology modernization strategies—making him a trusted advisor and thought leader for organizations navigating the digital landscape.
