Biography

Daniel Wheeler is currently a Senior Academic Research Computing Specialist on the Colgate University ITS Services and Shared Infrastructure team, which investigates and maintains technology services for academic research, instruction, and learning. He is currently focused on social software technologies, and manages Colgate's Moodle Learning Management System and various Linux services, including wiki, blog, web, and crowdsourcing platforms. Previously at Colgate Dan has served as a Lead Instructional Technologist in the Academic Technologies team, and Senior Technology Support Analyst in the Desktop Support Team, performing desktop and other support focused on the needs of the Division of Natural Sciences & Mathematics. Prior to arriving at Colgate in 2000, Dan served for 11 years at Le Moyne College in academic instructional and technology support, server management, and network administration. Dan holds a master's degree in computer science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor's degree in oceanography from the U. S. Naval Academy.
