Dave King King

Biography

King served as special assistant to the provost for innovation working on new learning innovation projects and now is professor emeritus, teaching Innovation in the Honors College.

From 2009-2016, King served as associate provost at Oregon State University. His responsibilities in the provost’s office included:

Extended Campus Summer Session Open Educational Resources Professional and Continuing Education Extension and Experiment Station Communications

From 2006 to 2009, he was the department head of OSU Extension and Experiment Station Communications, and Communications Program Leader for OSU Extension.

During 1998 to 2006, King was executive director of the Indiana Higher Education Telecommunication System (IHETS)—a consortium of 40 Indiana colleges and universities—and CEO of the Indiana College Network.

King led the Agricultural Communication Service department at Purdue University from 1990-1998, and during that time served as the Acting Director of Communications (1991 to 1993) for the Cooperative State Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C.

King has led OSU sponsored delegations to China on seven occasions. He has a track record of international communications and distance education program development in México, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Kenya, and China.

 King has a Masters degree from the University of Oregon in Journalism (1983) and Bachelors degree from California State University, Chico in Mass Communication (1972.)
