Dave Futey

Biography

With EDUCAUSE, David Futey is a member of the Security Task Force: Effective Practices and Solution WG. David also leads the ResNet Applied Research Group, which performs research and analysis on technologies, services, and support of residential and living/learning environments at higher education institutions. Previously David was Associate Director, Academic Computing at Stanford University managing a variety of technology services for the academic and library environments at Stanford. Professionally, David is past chairperson of the ResNet Organization's Steering Committee, which guides the organization's operation (www.resnetsymposium.org) and previously co-chaired the Internet2 P2P working group. He has presented at numerous conferences including EDUCAUSE, Seminars on Academic Computing, Internet2, ResNet, and ACUTA and has written technical articles including ECAR Research Bulletins. David is also a published photographer.
