Biography

Drawing on more than 20 years of leadership as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Michigan Technological University, David Hale now advises academic institutions as a specialized Higher Education Consultant. During his tenure at Michigan Tech, Dave not only directed the university's cybersecurity strategy but also served as the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) overseeing federal contracts. Deeply engaged in the regional and national cyber community, he is a member of the Michigan Civilian Cyber Corps, the Michigan Cyber Partners, and Michigan Tech’s CNSA Industrial Advisory Board. He previously served on the SANS Educational Advisory Board.
