David Hamrick

Biography

David Hamrick joined University of Colorado - Boulder in February 2011 as Director of Information Technology. In this role, he is responsible for computing and storage technology, data centers, campus networking, wireless, telecommunications, residential network and classroom and lab technology services. David Hamrick was previously at Washington University of St. Louis - School of Medicine from 2007-2011 serving as Director of Information Technology. His responsibilities included providing core services such as networking, data center management and common IT services across the Medical School. In addition, he participated on numerous operational and planning committees at both the school and university level. Prior to his higher education career, David spent six years at a Fortune 500 firm, Charter Communications as the Vice President of Information Technology. His responsibilities included system implementation and support for new business endeavors such as high-speed data and voice services as well as enterprise-wide support for the data centers, computing, hardware, network, desktops, support desk, telecommunications and security. Prior to joining Charter, Mr. Hamrick spent over 20 years at AT&T (SBC) in areas of Information Technology, Finance, Operations and Research and Development. His last SBC position was an expatriate assignment in Zurich, Switzerland serving as the Head of Data Services. Mr. Hamrick earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Missouri and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University.
