Biography
David Hostetter is the Associate CIO for Administrative Computing and Customer Support in the Information and Technology Services organization at RIT. He has over 25 years of IT experience in both an academic and corporate setting. Since joining RIT in January 2000, David has re-invented the Administrative Computing and Customer Support organization and is also involved in many campus-wide initiatives.
In the Administrative Computing arena, David developed strong development teams for Oracle ERP and Student Information Systems and also created the first Web Services team. Significant contributions include:

David is active in many campus-wide initiatives. He was selected to represent the ITS organization on the Institute Strategic Planning Committee. The new ten-year plan was approved by the Board of Directors in summer 2004. He is the co-chair of the RIT Web Advisory Committee which completed a major re-design of the RIT Website in 2003. David was instrumental in bringing in a Web Content Management solution which is currently in implementation.
Prior to joining RIT, David worked at Bausch & Lomb where he led a series of enterprise wide initiatives including global ERP software development projects, E-Commerce initiatives and developed PC applications for international subsidiaries. David started his career with Information Associates developing applications software for higher education customers. David developed the first IA Purchasing system for the University of Chicago and was a key member of the team that developed the IA IDMS applications suite.
David holds a BS degree in Computer Science, Earth Science and Meteorology from the State University of New York, College at Brockport.
