David Baird joined Wesleyan University as VP/CIO in 2012. He is responsible for the full spectrum of technology issues at the university, from infrastructure to applications, and provides vision and cohesion to the various parts of ITS while advocating for the strategic use of technology at the university level. David served previously as the Interim CIO at Colgate University, and was Director of Academic Technologies at Colgate from 2006-2011. He holds a Ph.D. in geophysics from Cornell University and obtained his undergraduate degree in geology and physics from the University of New Brunswick (Canada).
