Biography

David has been the Information Security Officer at Loyola Marymount University since 2006 and has been an IT professional in higher education for the past 20 years. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and his experiences have included working on various information security projects such as enterprise change control, policy development, disaster recovery/business continuity as well as cloud security. Originally studying Criminology and Computer Science to pursue a career in federal law enforcement specializing in computer crimes, David quickly took interest in the unique atmosphere and challenges of information technology in higher education. Recognizing the need to continue his education to further his career in this environment, David earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from California State University, Bakersfield and a Doctorate of Public Administration (DPA) degree at the University of La Verne completing his dissertation on information security priorities of public higher education institutions.
