Biography

David Leaser is the senior executive of strategic growth initiatives for IBM’s Training & Skills program. Leaser developed IBM’s first cloud-based learning solution and is the program developer for IBM’s new Open Badge program, a leading edge program to attract, engage and progress talent. Mr. Leaser is the author of a number of thought leadership white papers on talent development, including “Migrating Minds” and “The Social Imperative in Workforce Development.” Leaser has trained more than 4,000 clients and developed more than 30 training manuals and video tutorials.

David has become an authority and thought leader in the Open Badge credential space. Leaser is the founder of  IBM’s Open Badge program and has delivered dozens of presentations and thought leadership papers on the future of credentials and online learning. Leaser is a member of the IMS Global Board, where he provides a business perspective on the future trends and needs for credentials in the IT industry. David developed IBM’s Open Badge program with an emphasis on employability and bridging the gap from college to career, with an emphasis on students who are seeking affordable skills development, improve the education and economic opportunities for underprivileged youths, and as a way to attract, engage and nurture talent toward entrepreneurship and employment.
