Dawn Irish

Biography

Dawn Irish joined Tufts in May 2000 and has been providing training leadership and development expertise to organizations from high-tech to higher education for the past sixteen years. In her role as Director, Communications and Organizational Effectiveness for University Information Technology (UIT), Dawn is responsible for working with UIT senior management and department staff to formulate and implement internal and external communications plans and community outreach initiatives and to improve organizational collaboration, effectiveness, and flexibility in response to Tufts’ increasing and evolving IT service and support needs. She leads UIT’s communication efforts surrounding new and existing IT products and services, oversees communication plans for all projects, markets technology events, and oversees the development and distribution of print and online promotional materials. She also plays a key role in UIT’s outreach and education efforts with specific accountability for identifying and managing venues for community dialogue and feedback, facilitating the new university-wide IT advisory processes, and creating and administering various events to meet both academic and administrative needs. In addition, Dawn partners with UIT senior management to define organization change projects that enable UIT’s strategic and tactical plans, including assessing organization structure, culture, alignment and readiness, and by identifying barriers to implementation, and developing solutions that promote innovation and improve cross functional collaboration, communication and priority setting both within UIT and with the Tufts IT community.
