Dawn Rhodes

Biography

Ms. Dawn Rhodes has over 25 years of higher education finance and administration experience.  As of August 1, 2016, Ms. Rhodes was named chief business and finance officer and vice president of Administration and Finance at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB).  In this role, she oversees UMB's $1.1 billion budget, as well as capital planning, facilities and operations, and business affairs.

Prior to coming to UMB, Ms. Rhodes served as the vice chancellor for finance and administration for 7 years at IUPUI, an urban public research institution and a core campus of Indiana University.  Ms. Rhodes spent nearly 15 years at the University of Toledo holding several executive leadership positions, including vice presidencies.  For a period between 1998 and 2000, Ms. Rhodes served as the vice president for business and finance at Savannah State University, a Historically Black College and University.  

Ms. Rhodes has been a member of NACUBO’s Board of Directors since 2010.  She chaired the NACUBO ad hoc committee for Next Generation Business Officer Development.  She also served as a member of the ad hoc committee on Identifying and Disseminating Effective Analytics and on the Finance and Audit Committee.  Ms. Rhodes has been a faculty member at NACUBO annual meetings and an author in the NACUBO Business Officer Magazine.
