Biography

Dr. Dean Goon is the Dean of Academic Innovation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He has held this position since June 2021. In this role, Dean leads a high-performing team of over 60 Instructional Technologists, Instructional Designers, Digital Media Specialists, Faculty Learning Consultants, Innovation Researchers, and Data Analysts to support the mission of ERAU and the Academic Innovation Division. 

Dean has more than 25 years of teaching and learning leadership. As an executive academic leader, Dean’s experience extends from K12 leadership, educational consulting, associate professor, faculty development, instructional design, academic dean, and AVP of Innovative Education.  

Dean’s experience and thought leadership has contributed to many academic innovation partner successes in ed-tech, digital learning, higher education, workforce development, and international ministries of education.  

In 2019, Dean received the Fulbright Specialist designation from the U.S. State Department for expertise in faculty development and online program design and implementation.
