Denis Walsh

Biography

As Associate Director for IT Planning and Portfolio Governance Denis is responsible for developing, enhancing and facilitating an effective Information Technology Services (ITS) strategic planning process involving key University stakeholders and ensures alignment of ITS initiatives with Boston College'™s priorities and goals. Working with ITS leadership, he also develops the Action Plan to support the implementation of activities related to the Strategic Plan. Denis also plays a key role in the design, execution and continuous improvement of the governance model for ITS projects. He directs this strategic initiative through the recently developed Project Portfolio Management process. Denis is also responsible for maintaining a close link between the ITS Strategic Planning process and the ITS Governance (Project Portfolio Management) process to ensure the optimization of ITS resources in the department's efforts to realize its vision and mission. Denis started his IT career at Boston College in 1989. He holds a BA in Information Systems from Boston College and an MA in Information Systems from Boston University.
