Denise Jones

Biography

Denise Jones has degrees from Ball State University in Visual Communications and Adult Education. She is a 25-year higher education veteran with experience designing for print and the Web. She has served on the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District V Board since 2007, the CASE District V Conference Planning Committee since 2004, and has served as a board member for the Muncie Chapter of the American Red Cross from 2007-2010. After beginning a career in visual merchandising for a major retailer, she moved to Ball State University to follow a career in graphic design. She gained extensive experience in University Publications, producing and designing brochures, annual reports, journals, and research periodicals for the university. In 1997, she moved to Information Technology to lead the university'™s Web development initiative by building the university presence in the "new" online environment. Understanding the importance of standards, consistency, and efficiency, as well as, the rapid and continuing growth of the university's online environment, Jones led the university's move and implementation of the first content management system. "Throughout my career, I have tried to leave projects better off than how I found them and in the process have made a difference in how information is presented, organized, and consumed." In her current role, Jones will be exploring new technologies, and with faculty partnerships, demonstrate how those technologies can make a difference in educating students.
