Derek Kan
Biography
Derek Kan is Senior IT project manager for the Information Technology Unit's Project Management Office at George Mason University. He is currently responsible for the development of the IT project management framework, and he is the PMO representative for the IT governance development initiative. In addition he has responsibility for managing enterprise IT projects. Prior to his current position he was manager of Advanced Network Technologies overseeing emerging IT projects. Kan earned his MBA from Shenandoah University, VA, his MSc. in Communications and Signal Processing from Imperial College London, UK. Kan holds the following professional certifications: ITIL Expert, PMP, MCTS-MS Project Server 2007, CWNA, MCSE (2000), CCNAEDUCAUSE Presentations
