Biography

Dimples Smith, AMA-CPM, SPHR, SHRM-SCP

Learning & Development Director

I serve the university as a resource and liason on best employment practices, maintaining collaborative and effective work relationships, and improving work functions.  I am responsible for assessing, developing, and delivering employee learning and development programs that meet the university’s mission.

I earned my Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision (OLS), Bachelor of General Studies degree, and Associate of Arts in OLS from IPFW.  I recently earned the AMA-
CPM certification, am a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and also hold the SHRM-SCP certification.  I am certified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, Step I and Step; and a 2007 graduate of Leadership Fort Wayne. I joined the university as a secretary in General Studies in 2003; promoted to  Employment Administrator in 2004, making me instrumental in the university’s successful transition to an on-line employment system.  Having held a variety of HR position since my hire, my breathe of knowledge includes, but is not limited to AA/EEO, Compensation & Classification, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Relations.  Previous work at a weekly newspaper was instrumental in developing my technical interests and skills.
