Biography
I spent 30 years as a journalist covering technology and business, for publications such as The Economist, Washington Post, and Newsweek (where I was Business Editor), and later for TV with NBC News, Financial News Network and CNBC. I am currently Director of Communications at the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (Calit2) at UC San Diego. In that capacity, I deal a lot with IT issues, and am currently creating an advanced hi-def TV production facility, using the best available technologies.
