Biography
Douglas W. Canfield is the Coordinator of the Language Resource Center at The University of Tennessee . His background is in French instruction via hybrid courses with significant online modules . His research explores music and videoclips as catalysts for the Chomskyan Language Acquisition Device, the creation of discourse and gaming communities for language instruction and research, and the leveraging of open-source and low-affect technologies in language resource centers.
Canfield is the Co-Editor of the Journal of the International Assocation for Language Learning Technology (IALLT), a member of the Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium (CALICO) and a member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
