Dustin Baker
Biography
I started my path in IT early on when I joined the US Air Force. Not only did I learn how technology could be leveraged in many aspects, but I also learned how vital it is to protect those assets through sound cybersecurity practices.
This defined the rest of my career, the balance between IT Operations and Cybersecurity. While I enjoyed the lessons learned in the military, both active duty and as a civilian, I decided to apply the lessons I learned to the public sector, with a focus on organizations that had a focus on helping others. I have led some amazing teams in multiple healthcare organizations, developing cybersecurity programs while also leading teams to develop new technology platforms and infrastructures to support patients evolving healthcare in more and more IT-centric model. I now have the privilege to apply all those lessons learned to higher education leading an amazing team as we look at opportunities to leverage more SaaS and cloud-based solutions for students.
I will never get away from my roots as a network engineer, but truly have a passion for bringing the right groups of individuals together to develop IT solutions that both meet the demand of our customer base while ensuring the protection of sensitive data through sound IT security practices.
