Biography

Dustin Myers is a highly skilled technology support and AV systems manager with over eight years of experience in IT infrastructure and audiovisual operations. As the Assistant Manager of Technology Support at John A Logan College, Dustin plays a pivotal role in managing a team of technical professionals responsible for maintaining and enhancing the college's technology infrastructure and AV systems. His expertise ensures that the institution's technology is reliable, up-to-date, and effectively supports the academic and administrative needs of the college.

In his role, Dustin has successfully led numerous technology projects, including hardware and software upgrades, as well as AV system enhancements. He coordinates closely with various departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration, ensuring that all technology initiatives are executed efficiently and within budget. 

Prior to his current role, Dustin served as the Technical Director at the Marion Cultural & Civic Center, where he oversaw all technical aspects of theater productions. His responsibilities included set construction, lighting, sound, video, and special effects. His leadership in managing teams, budgeting, and resource allocation contributed to the successful execution of numerous productions.

Dustin earned his Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Cyber-Security from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in May 2024, graduating with a GPA of 3.933. He has also earned multiple associate degrees, demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Dustin's accomplishments extend beyond his professional career. He has received several prestigious awards in the AV industry, including the 2024 Live Events Professional of the Year by Higher Ed AV Media. Additionally, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership as the captain of national cyber defense teams, securing top placements in various competitions, such as the Illinois CCDC State Championship and the Department of Energy Cyberforce Competition.

With a strong foundation in leadership, communication, and technical skills, Dustin Myers is dedicated to advancing technology and AV systems in higher education, ensuring that institutions can meet the evolving demands of the modern educational landscape.
