Biography
Liz Strand joined Texas State University in January, 2002 after working for 15 years in the private sector as an instructional designer, project manager, and business owner. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in Curriculum and Instruction, specializing in Instructional Technology, in 1986. Liz supervises the instructional design team in Texas State’s Instructional Technologies Support (ITS) group. Under Liz’s direction, the instructional design team established quality standards for the design of online instructional materials and created a process for collaborating with faculty to develop and evaluate the online materials. To help faculty learn about instructional design principles, online course development and teaching, and technology integration, the instructional design team provides a variety of workshops and seminars.
