Biography

Ellen Hampton Filgo is the Baylor University Libraries E-Learning Librarian. In addition to providing reference and instruction services to students and faculty at Baylor, she also designs and creates online instructional materials. She is interested in investigating ways that new generations of students are using the internet and how that can be connected with the online resources the library provides, how libraries can be represented in course management systems like Blackboard, the instructional uses of Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites and how libraries can use and adapt Web 2.0 tools to help facilitate easier access to online resources. Filgo got her BA in Comparative Literature from Oberlin College in Ohio in 1997 and her MSLS from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 2007.
