Eric Zematis

Biography

Eric Zematis is a strategic cybersecurity leader and educator with over 25 years of experience in higher education technology. He currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Lehigh University, where he oversees the institution’s information security strategy, privacy governance, and identity management programs.

Eric is also an active faculty member, teaching Data Analytics in Lehigh’s College of Business. This dual perspective allows him to ensure that security enables, rather than hinders, our academic and research goals.

Prior to Lehigh, Eric served as CISO for Charter Oak State College and Senior Director of Infrastructure at Western Connecticut State University. His areas of focus include Identity and Access Management (IAM), supply chain security, and IT governance. He holds a B.S. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Connecticut and an M.S. in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
