Erin Hugus
Biography
Dr. Erin Hugus is an education professional whose work focuses on competency-based education, online learning, curriculum design, assessment, and the thoughtful integration of AI in teaching and learning. She serves with the Tennessee Board of Regents, where she supports initiatives that help create flexible, student-centered learning experiences for higher education. Her work is grounded in helping educators design practical, meaningful learning opportunities that connect academic success with real-world application.
In addition to her work in education, Erin brings a strong commitment to service, teamwork, and lifelong learning. Her experience with the American Heart Association reflects her interest in community impact and public well-being. She has also participated in state and national bowling tournaments, an experience that speaks to her discipline, focus, and love of competition. A longtime musician, she has performed in local and national community ensembles as a French horn player, which has strengthened her appreciation for collaboration, creativity, and the shared pursuit of excellence.
