Erin Murtha

Biography

Erin is an experienced higher education professional currently serving as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Planning and Projects at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. 

Erin has over 15 years of experience in higher education, with a strong IT background spanning strategic planning and project management. Before her current role, she served as the Director of the InCommon Academy at Internet2, developing and leading learning solutions for the Identity and Access Management community.

In her current role, Erin is heavily engaged in reengineering IT Project Governance and leading the Portfolio and Project Management Office. She works closely with senior leadership and stakeholders across the university to ensure the alignment of priorities and resources. 

In addition to her work at the university, Erin is involved with the Project Management Institute and EDUCAUSE.  She holds a BS in Supply Chain Management from Penn State and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a scrum master, and holds several ITIL certifications.
