Biography

Eslam Hamed was born in Egypt in 1992. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (2013) and a Master of Science in Chemistry (2019) from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in Chemistry at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Eslam began his academic career as a teaching assistant at Ain Shams University, a position he held from 2015 until 2019, after which he became an assistant lecturer. His research interests are broad and span several cutting-edge fields, including nanozymes and single-atom nanozymes for enzyme-mimicking catalysis, transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) for biomedical devices and biosensors, as well as green chemistry, environmental chemistry, and food chemistry.

Driven by a passion for sustainable solutions, Eslam’s research explores ways to integrate advanced materials with real-world applications, such as food quality control and environmental sustainability, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
