Fatiha Bazouche

Biography

Fatiha Bazouche is an Instructional Designer, Evaluator, Researcher, and Educator with over 12 years of experience designing and implementing learner-centered, technology-enhanced educational environments across K–12, higher education, and corporate training settings. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Instructional Technology (Innovative Learning Design and Technology) at Ohio University, where she also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Research and Evaluation. In addition, she is pursuing a Ph.D. in French Language and Linguistics at the University of Setif 2. Her work focuses on integrating critical thinking skills into hybrid and online learning environments using evidence-based instructional design frameworks such as Merrill’s First Principles of Instruction and Paul & Elder’s Intellectual Standards. Her research interests include artificial intelligence in education, gamification, VR/AR applications, and culturally responsive teaching. At Ohio University, Fatiha serves as a Teaching Assistant and instructional designer, contributing to the development of graduate-level courses like EDRE 7800 and EDCT 2030. She also plays a leadership role in instructional design and training operations at DC5 Victoria’s Secret & Co., where she designs SOPs and supervises cross-departmental teams. A multilingual scholar and active presenter, Fatiha has delivered numerous presentations at international and national conferences. She presented “Socratic Questioning in the AI Age in Higher Education” at conferences in both Toronto, Canada, and Providence, Rhode Island. Her paper titled “Developing Critical Thinking in Blended Learning: Evidence-Based Instructional Design Strategies” was accepted at the International Conference on Blended Learning Strategies and Online Learning, to be held in Ankara, Turkey, on April 23, 2025. She is also scheduled to present at the EdMedia World Conference on Educational Technology in Barcelona, Spain, in May 2025. Furthermore, she will present “Developing Preservice Teachers' Critical Thinking Skills in Hybrid Learning: Leveraging Game-Based Learning Strategies” at an upcoming conference in New York at the Hyatt Place Flushing/Laguardia Airport. She holds multiple certifications in instructional design, UX, and educational technology, and is an active member of professional organizations such as AERA, OLC, AAAI, and the Foundation for Critical Thinking.
