Faye Snowden has almost 25 years in higher education serving in various information technology leadership and senior project management roles. Faye’s entire career has been focused on the information technology field. Her broad experience includes computer operations, help desk design, implementation and leadership, infrastructure (network and telecom) leadership, project and program management, business analysis, and teaching project management. As a result of assuming various leadership and technical roles, Faye has a good understanding of how the alignment of technology to strategic goals is critical to the institution’s success.
During her career, Faye has designed, implemented, and managed help desks in higher education and private industry, transformed failing teams, developed a portfolio management office, and led projects and programs to replace legacy IT voice, network infrastructure, and enterprise systems. Faye has a master’s of English from University of California, Stanislaus, and credentials in project management, Lean, business analysis and ITIL foundations. While her entire career has been focused on information technology, Faye’s mantra is that technology should enable the strategic mission of the institution it serves.
Faye Snowden is also the award-winning author of noir mysteries, poems and short stories, including Chefs, which New York Times says, “evokes James M. Cain’s tone and Stanley Ellin’s fiendish mind”. She has also written articles for Salon, Writer’s Digest and CrimeReads. Her novels include A Killing Fire (Flame Tree), a dark, southern gothic tale featuring homicide detective Raven Burns. A Killing Fire is first in a four-part series. The sequel, A Killing Rain was named as one of the best southern gothic mysteries of 2022 by CrimeReads, was longlisted for CWA’s gold Dagger, and won gold in the Foreword INDIES Book of the Year awards. Two of her short stories have been anthologized in The Best American Mystery and Suspense (2021 & 2023).
