Felix Zuniga

Biography

Dr. Felix Zuniga currently serves as a Campus Engagement Partner for the  California State University's Office of the Chancellor. His teams role is to foster collaboration, communication, and excellence across a 23 campus system that supports over 460,000 students, over 50,000 faculty and staff and more than 4 million living alumni.

Felix was the 2023 winner of the EDUCAUSE DEI Leadership Award.  Felix serves as faculty to the Educause Management Institute, he has served on the Annual Conference Program Committee, The EDUCAUSE Top 10 for 2025, an EDUCAUSE Mentor, a member of the Young Professionals community group and is the past chair for the EDUCAUSE Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Advisory Committee. In addition to be a three-time alum from the CSU, having his Bachelor's, MBA, and Doctorate in Educational Leadership all from the CSU.

Felix's research interests include: Leadership, Artificial Intelligence, Diversity, Higher Education, and Student Success.

Felix has over 20 years experience in Higher Education IT. Before joining the CSU Chancellor's Office, he began his career at CSU San Bernaridno while he was still a student, moved on to serve as an Information Technology Consultant. His last position at CSU San Bernardino was the Director of Project Management and Assessment for the ITS Division, where he oversaw a portfolio of over 70 concurrent IT projects across the division.

Felix's heart is invested in furthering the cause of education. He understands how education is a catalyst for social mobility. Felix grew up in the Inland Empire, the inland region of Southern California that is the San Bernardino and Riverside Counties combined. This area has been severely impacted by low education attainment levels and high levels of poverty. Felix has invested a significant amount of time in San Bernardino specifically, especially with students in the community and at CSU San Bernardino. In the time Felix has resided in the IE, he has participated in the support and development of students in his community. Most notably he has provided leadership to several organizations geared towards student leadership and development. Felix is currently the chair of the CSUSB Latino Alumni Chapter, Past president of the CSUSB Association of Latino Faculty Staff and Students, He served on the Board of the University Diversity Committee, was the creator of the YotieTalks speaker series, and served as a Diversity Trainer. Felix was the advisor for the Latino Business Students Association, Latinos on the fast Track, and the IEFL Club at CSUSB. Felix is responsible for the creation of the Madrina/Padrino Mentorship program and one of the co-creators of the Black and Brown Young Men’s conference, going on its 5th year.

In the community, Felix serves on the boards of the Inland Empire Future Leaders, Kiwanis of Greater San Bernardino, and the Riverside Art Museum. He is a mentor for the San Bernardino Valley College Puente Mentor Program. He has also served on the founding boards for the Latino Book and Family Festival, the Coalition of Inland Empire Latino Organizations and CSUSB's Symposium on Race and Race Realtions.
