Flavia Ramos Mattoussi

Biography

Dr. Flavia S. Ramos-Mattoussi is a Senior Research Associate at the Learning Systems Institute at Florida State University. With over 35 years of experience in international education and development, she has demonstrated expertise in project design and implementation, teacher education, higher education programs, leadership training, nonformal education, curriculum and materials development, intercultural communications, gender and social inclusion, program evaluation, and assessment of education initiatives in multicultural, post-conflict, and development settings.

Prior to her current position, Dr. Ramos-Mattoussi held various academic appointments, including Assistant Professor and Director of the International Training and Education Program at American University in Washington, DC, and Visiting Professor of International Education at the George Washington University. In addition, she served as Adjunct faculty at the University of Connecticut, and at the School for International Training in Vermont. She has also served as a consultant for organizations such as the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. Department of Labor, UNICEF, Juarez & Associates, Institute for Training and Development, World Learning, and the American Council on Education, among others. Her consulting work has involved participant training programs in the United States and research and training in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
