Flo Gilzene-Cheese

Biography

Dr. Florence Gilzene Cheese is an Instructional Development Coordinator with responsibility for online faculty development at the UWI, Open Campus. She has also worked as Programme Coordinator and Curriculum Development Specialist with the campus. Dr Gilzene Cheese has over 20 years of experience at the K-12 and Higher Ed levels combined. Before coming to the UWI, Open Campus, Dr. Gilzene Cheese worked as a reading specialist in the USAID funded Caribbean Centre of Excellence for Teacher Training (CCETT) with responsibility for the Bethlehem Moravian College Cluster of schools in Jamaica. She has authored several books for children and continues her interest in education through her work as a lecturer of Literacy Research in the School of Education, UWI, Mona. Her research interests include faculty development strategies, literacy for development and emerging trends in virtual education.
