Flo Nolan

Biography

I am an Online Learning Specialist at SUNY Genesee Community College with more than ten years of experience supporting online students and faculty. In a concierge-style role within the Online Learning Office, I provide direct, personalized support to fully online and hybrid students, helping them navigate learning technologies, course expectations, and institutional systems.

My work centers on student engagement, early outreach, and retention, with a strong focus on supporting online learners balancing academics with work and family responsibilities. I collaborate closely with Student Success Coaches, faculty, instructional designers, and campus partners to reduce barriers, promote accessibility and inclusion, and connect students to timely academic and technical support.

I am actively involved in campus and SUNY-wide initiatives related to online student success and the responsible use of emerging technologies, including AI in advising. I participate in EDUCAUSE communities and working groups to contribute a practitioner’s perspective grounded in day-to-day student support, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement of online learning services.
