Flower Darby celebrates and promotes excellent, inclusive teaching for the sake of our students and their learning. She’s taught for over 26 years in English, Educational Technology, Leadership, Dance and Pilates in all class formats at Northern Arizona University and Estrella Mountain Community College. Flower loves to apply effective teaching principles and practices across the disciplines and to help others do the same. She’s the author, with James M. Lang, of Small Teaching Online: Applying Learning Science in Online Classes (2019). Her new book project is on emotion science and teaching with technology. She's also co-authoring the W. W. Norton Guide to Equity-Minded Teaching, coming soon.
