Galen Work is Associate Director of Information Technology at Rutgers University. Working in the office of Finance and Administration, his duties focus on operational metrics and strategic planning for institutional technology. His work concentrates on gaining efficiencies through IT investments and technology service strategies. Galen has been a speaker for regional and national conferences on a variety of topics, including technical underpinnings of peer-based IP network communications, identifying an effective wireless LAN security strategy, and various facets of vendor management in higher education technology organizations. His previous responsibilities as Director of New Brunswick Computing Services (also at Rutgers,) and Interim Director of Newark Computing Services, which included directing organizations responsible for University email, calendaring, and web services, operation of campus computer labs, and campus wireless infrastructure. Previous to Rutgers, Galen held senior IT management positions at Wilmington College and Vassar, and served as a Senior Systems Analyst with the Defense Department. He holds master's and bachelor's degrees from Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
