Biography
Experienced in developing and implementing High Performance Computing initiatives for research institutions. Expertise in directing HPC systems administration and user consulting efforts specializing in the use of large scale computation and data, to conduct scientific research. Strengths include program and project management, scientific HPC business development, team management, vision and planning. Key person in developing and implementing the Berkeley Research Computing HPC initiative. This is a partnership between Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and UC Berkeley to use current and emerging computing technologies, including HPC and Cloud Computing to accelerate research for UC Berkeley at large. Developed the institutional High Performance Computing program at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to facilitate the use of computation for simulation and data analysis for scientific research. Principal Investigator for the Cal HPCC program at University of California, Berkeley to provide HPC cluster support for faculty and researchers needing integrated HPC systems for their specific research. Member of the technical architecture group for the Shared Research Computing Services project that built and operated a multi-campus computational resource for the University of California campuses.
