Biography
As Dean of Libraries and Academic Innovation, Geneva Henry is responsible for enriching the academic experience of scholars at GW both through maintaining excellence in library services and collections and providing access to cutting-edge technology. Since joining GW in 2013, Geneva has successfully advocated for and implemented a GW Faculty Open Access Resolution, developed an institutional repository, and created a new library strategic plan to align with GW's ambitious VISION 2021.
Before coming to GW, Geneva was the Executive Director for Rice University's Digital Library Initiative. And her career prior to Rice includes 18 years of applied research and development in digital libraries, text search, natural language processing, expert systems, and complex systems integration at IBM, TRW, and the RAND Corporation. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from California State University, Los Angeles, a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington.
