George Renz

Biography

George Renz was the Director of the Center for Information Technology at Hebrew College for 10 years, from 2000 through November 2010. He created the IT department in 2000 and oversaw the technical infrastructure of a new campus, to which the college moved in December 2001. Simultaneously, George served as project manager for the implementation of the Jenzabar EX student information system, which went live in June 2002. Growing the technology services for a small institution with limited resources, he managed the transition from Blackboard to a combination of Google Apps and iTunes University to provide a rich, integrated environment for adult learning and professional education classes from Boston to DC. He also initiated and helped coordinate the college's use of social networking. George has over 25 years' experience in IT. Before Hebrew College, he was Technology Manager for Lanier Professional Services. Before that, he managed the broadcast editorial system for the Christian Science Monitor.
