George Loftus

Biography

Mr. George Loftus has served as the Executive Director of the Ocean State Higher Education & Adminstrative Network (OSHEAN), the Rhode Island GigaPOP for the past 5 years. Prior to that he was the Director of Network Services at Brown University. OSHEAN serves all of the IHE’s in Rhode Island as well as members in health care, and the K-12 communities. Mr. Loftus also serves as the President of the NorthEast Research & Education Network (NEREN), a regional optical networking organization providing optical facilities for the research & education community.

George is also active with the following groups: Northern Crossroads GigaPOP; Quilt – Optical Networking Workshop Committee; EDUCAUSE Broadband Policy Group.
