This report will explore the current state of learning analytics in higher education and identify the foundational elements of effective, efficient, and adaptable learning analytics tools.
BiographyGlenda Morgan is a Research Director in Gartner Research, where her research area is higher education technology strategies, including learning management systems, learning analytics, adaptive learning, digital assessment, online learning strategy, and innovative learning spaces. Prior to joining Gartner, Morgan spent over 20 years in higher education, most recently as the Director of Academic technology Services at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At Illinois Morgan helps develop vision, strategy and policy around all aspects of e-learning including physical and virtual learning environments, blended learning, and etexts, She maintains a strong research agenda and her her recent projects include research on how faculty and students use digital resources, formal and informal learning spaces and research methods used in studying applied learning environments. Morgan holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Minnesota.
