Glenda Scales

Biography

As the Associate Dean of Distance Learning and Computing in the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech, Dr. Scales is leading the College in establishing the vision, and overall strategy for implementing a world-class distance learning program. Her office also organizes the identification and coordination of appropriate hardware, software, and access to other information systems to meet the needs of the college in teaching and research. She received her bachelor's degree in computer science in 1985 from Old Dominion University, her master's in applied behavioral science in 1992 from Johns Hopkins University, and her doctorate in curriculum and instruction in 1995 from Virginia Tech.
