Hailey Ruoff

Biography

Hailey M. Ruoff is the Associate Director for Design Help at the State University of New York (SUNY) College at Cortland. In 1998 she graduated from SUNY Cortland and started working as a part-time distance learning coordinator. That fall she was promoted to Media Operations Coordinator, where she directed the delivery and retrieval of multimedia equipment throughout the campus and set-ups for special events. During her tenure as Media Operations Coordinator, she supervised several part-time professionals as well as hundreds of temporary service student workers. She graduated from the University at Albany in 2003 with a MS in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology. In 2006 Hailey accepted an extra service assignment with the college to assist faculty designing, developing and implementing course materials in an electronic format for presentation in the classroom and in a web-based environment. In 2008 she was promoted to the position of Instructional Designer. She successfully advocated for the faculty support services based out of the library to combine. In 2011 she successfully migrated the campus from WebCT to Blackboard Learn 9.1 and was raised to the position of Assistant Director of Instructional Technologies and Design Services (ITDS).  Hailey assisted in another combination of services which include Circulation Help, Technology Help and Design Help (formerly ITDS) into one cohesive support unit located within Memorial Library. Hailey worked with the leadership team of Memorial Library to bring about positive change and technology relevancy to patrons. Hailey is currently the Associate Director for Design Help and is working with her instructional designers and the campus sys admins to complete the transition to the new SUNY digital learning environment (DLE) - Brightspace.  In addition to being an EDUCAUSE member, Hailey is a member of several SUNY wide professional organizations. She is a member of the SUNY Computing Officers Association (COA) and is a SUNY Technology Conference (STC) Planning Committee member and Registrar.
