Biography

Harriet Watkins has expertise in online learning and educational technology. With this rich tapestry of expertise, Dr. Watkins has made indelible contributions to the scholarly discourse, evident in esteemed publications, including "Creating Online Learning Experiences: A Brief Guide to Online Courses" and "Predicting Student Retention from Behavior in an Online Orientation Course." Additionally, she completed a dissertation titled "Finding the Reflective Learner Online: Developing a Richer Model of Reflecon in a Large-Scale Internet Class" in December 2016. As an adjunct lecturer at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, she teaches online asynchronous graduate courses in the P-16 Integration and Educational Technology Program. The courses she focuses on are Trend Analysis in Educational Technology (Doctoral), Student-Centered Learning (Masters), and Advanced Technologies in Education and Training (Masters). She has been named as senior editor of the Texas Digital Learning Association Journal.
